The need for this service was originally born during the Suez Canal closure and crisis of the 1960's. Today vessels passing the ports of Cape Town and Durban are re-supplied at a rendezvous point Off Port Limits (OPL rendezvous positions Maps).
This avoids expensive Port and Light dues for vessels as well as the time it takes for vessels to enter the port. Secondly for larger and loaded vessels which are not able to enter the port due to their deep drafts, this service is a viable alternative.
This cost effective service is attractive to vessels as they are met on arrival at rendezvous position with no unnecessary delays.
Our craft are well suited for Offshore services and only on rare occasions (usually in our winter months) will exceptionally bad weather prevent offshore operations.
